3-Way Design
The SE953 utilizes a 3-way design for increased output and power handling. The SE953 features the Type-S3 ¾” tweeter for high frequencies, a high output 2 1/2” woofer for midrange and a 6 x 9” woofer for midbass and bass duties.



Type-S3 Tweeter
The SE component speakers utilize the Type-S3 soft dome tweeter. Its 3/4" size with neodymium motor structure, the tweeter is very compact and features Ferrofluid cooling for increased power handling. The dome material, a carbon injected polymer, offers a perfect blend of detail and strong output.



Real Metal Grille
The SE speakers feature a true metal mesh grille for optimum protection for the woofer when installed in non-factory locations or anywhere where a grille is needed. Additionally the tweeter for the SE component systems also features a metal grille for equal protection.



CATB™
SE coaxial speakers feature Boston’s CATB™ (Contoured Asymmetrical Tweeter Baffle). The CATB™ offers to major advantages over a conventional tweeter post. First, its contoured baffle dramatically improves the off-axis response of the tweeter. Second, its asymmetrical shape makes the baffle acoustically invisible to the woofer, keeping the frequency response from the woofer flatter and smoother then conventional designs.
