-- Boston Sets the New Standard for Performance and Value;
Peabody, MA and Bassett, VA, December 15, 2011 -- Bassett Furniture (NASDAQ: BSET), a leading manufacturer of high-quality, mid-priced home furnishings and Boston Acoustics®, a world-renowned manufacturer of innovative home entertainment solutions and high performance loudspeakers, are proud to announce that the NVELOP Louis Philippe TV credenza has been selected by This Old House for the “TOH Top 100” list of the 100 best new home products of the year. The NVELOP Louis Philippe brings together renowned Bassett craftsmanship with advanced Boston audio technologies. To select the TOH Top 100, This Old House editors hunted high and low to find the most unique, helpful, and coolest home products in seven categories: Kitchen, Bath, Tools, Building Products, Outdoor Living, Home Tech, and Finishing Touches. The 2011 list marks the first annual “TOH Top 100” and includes items for people who love old houses and appreciate new and interesting ways to fix them up. In addition to the Louis Philippe NVELOP credenza, which was honored in the “Home Tech” category, winning products included insulation made of recycled plastic bottles, a faucet that turns on with a simple wave of your hand, an automatic floor cleaner, paperless wallpaper and a deck whose boards require no fasteners. A complete list of the “TOH Top 100” can be found at and on newsstands.
The introduction of the NVELOP TV cabinet line earlier this year marked the first time Boston Acoustics or Bassett had partnered with a company in their respective industries. The result was the exceptionally crafted wood NVELOP™ cabinets feature a powerful built-in Boston Acoustics soundbar system with Boston’s Digitally Optimized Virtual Surround that literally envelops viewers in rich, room-filling audio. There are four new credenzas in the NVELOP™ lineup, including two Louis Philippe models, the TOH Top 100 winning large version (75”Wx22”Dx38”H), as well as a smaller Louis Philippe version (57”Wx22”Dx38”H) and two Redin Park models, large (69”Wx22”Dx39”H), and small (50”Wx20”Dx32”H). NVELOP™ credenzas are now available at Bassett Home Furnishings stores, Bassett retailers and online at
