I like everything about this radio but the feature I like best is the ramped-up volume when the radio (alarm) comes on in the morning - no more abrupt wake up - no more annoying instant loud volume. And in the other reviews, users complain about lack of time display when the radio is on. I had the same problem until I checked the display settings in the menu and was able to change the settings so the default is 'time' display. 'Frequency' is only displayed when the tuner frequency is adjusted.

For the size, this unit packs a good bass punch and locks in on radio station frequencies, like a larger stereo but has a major flaw....you can only see the time display when the unit's in the off position. Not good when you like to listen to the radio all night and wake up and can't see what time it is, without turning the unit off.
So impressed, I went back to buy a second radio, 12/29/2010

Bed-side radios compromise sound quality for size. Not the case with the Solo II. I bought the Solo II on the recommendation of the sales rep and the reputation of Boston Acoustics. The quality of the sound was the first thing that impressed me: small package but a rich, full sound. The small things then became apparent; the tone controls, ease of navigation and the auto dimming feature. Brilliantly engineered. I was so impressed, I went back to the store and bought a second radio for our guest room!
This is a great alarm clock, but 1 flaw ruins it for me, 12/6/2010

I love this alarm clock. The sound is great and has plenty of bass and treble. The 360 snooze bar is a great feature as well. The only thing was that I got this alarm clock for the auxiliary plug-in. I use my android phone as an alarm so I can play a song on my playlist as my alarm. When the auxiliary feature is turned on, the time-display unnecessarily disappears and is replaced only with a giant AU instead of putting a tiny AU symbol in one of the corners. Since I must leave the auxiliary stereo on the entire night, I now can't see what time it is on my clock at night and it is useless for me. If you're not planning on using this alarm for my reason then by all means do so because this is a great product. Would have had 5 stars if not for that one flaw.
