Bought the Boston MM226 without hearing them, based on Boston’s quality, the products specs: BassTrac audio processing for rich, clean bass at any volume (it works great, very clean sound no distortion); Satellites: 25 watts RMS/50 watts dynamic output power per channel; Subwoofer: 61/2-inch subwoofer drive, 50 watts RMS/100 watts dynamic output power and customer reviews. I was not disappointed. If you want clean accurate sound with strong base (not ghetto base) these are GREAT SOUNDING SPEAKERS. They sounded very good on my stock dell sound card, and when I installed my new Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card They reached the top level of the sound reproduction quality. Amazing sound for this size system, extremely clear and accurate. I got them for $64.00, they retail for $179 and are worth the $179 in my opinion. You cannot go wrong at this price!!! Buy them and enjoy. Tiger.com and UPS did their usual awesome job-had in 3 days

These speakers do not dissapoint. The sound is crisp, the base is deep and it is a brand name I trust. The BA doesn't stand for Boston Accoustics~it stands for BAD ASS.

I'm a longtime fan of the 'Boston sound', characterized by fuller mids, tight bass and controlled highs.
When I came across this system available for the desktop, I couldn't resist trying these out. I'm speechless after hearing them, all my music sounds so much more sophisticated and wonderful. This is a great system. A must buy for any audiophile ..
